Equal numbers of male and female students in every subject
Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Sample Solution
There is an assertion that tertiary educational institutions should take an equal number of students from male and female backgrounds in every discipline, which raises questions if this is the best course of action for achieving gender equality.
First, I accept that universities should have a diverse group of students. Women were not encouraged as much as men in pursuit of education since a man was considered to be the superior in a household. For instance, Malala Yousafzai campaigned for her rights as a female learner, it was illegal for women in Pakistan to attend school. From the recent world, it is evident that more women are seeking higher education. Therefore, I think making an opportunity for gender diversity is a positive move.
Accepting to have equal representation of men and women in any field is quite redundant. This is because not all males have specific abilities, and vice versa. Take for example; some guys would be more capable of taking up an engineering course than a fashion course. Similarly, this applies to women; some are more capable of handling legal matters than courses related to machinery.
To sum up, involving more female and male students in the university will be a good step toward achieving equality of access to education and career opportunities between males and females. However, choices in topics are at the discretion of individual students. All students should be allowed to make the decisions they desire.
